Why have a winter wedding? As I’m sure you can imagine this is a quieter time for the wedding industry as a whole and this is a big plus for you, the consumer.

With fewer weddings taking place it should be much more straightforward to find a date when everything aligns. Better availability certainly means it will be easier to secure your chosen venue, band, wedding photographer and all of the other things you want to make your day perfect.

It’s probably true to say that your guests are more likely to be available too as you are not clashing with the holiday season, even more so if you are organising your wedding at short notice.

For me as a documentary wedding photographer it’s the light that I love at this time of year. With the sun being so low in the sky it can present it’s challenges but done well you can get some stunning images.

A lot of planning and time goes into organising your wedding but remember the most important thing is that you are getting married and that in itself will make it the most wonderful, happy and amazing day of your life— whatever the time of year.
